Noida’s Sector 3–60 Elevated Road Gets a Major Update: 5.49-Km, 6-Lane Corridor Moves Ahead

Noida’s proposed elevated road has received a significant push forward, with IIT Roorkee submitting the alignment report for the revised Sector 3–Sector 60 corridor. The project has now been extended beyond Sector 57 to create a more effective connectivity solution for central Noida.

The proposed 5.49-km, six-lane elevated road is planned along Master Plan Road-1, beginning near the Rajnigandha Underpass in Sector 3 and coming down near Block A in Sector 60. IIT Roorkee has also been asked to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR), reportedly within around two months.

What Has Changed in the Project?

The earlier proposal was to take the elevated road from the Sector 3 area towards Sector 57. However, a joint survey by IIT Roorkee and the Noida Authority indicated that bringing the elevated road down around Sector 57 could potentially shift congestion towards Sectors 57 and 58 rather than providing a complete connectivity solution.

The revised alignment therefore takes the corridor further north towards Sector 60.

This is more than simply adding another stretch to the project. The extension is intended to improve the overall movement of traffic beyond the immediate elevated-road corridor.

The revised route is expected to allow vehicles reaching Sector 60 to continue towards Sectors 73, 121, 59, 62 and 63, as well as towards Ghaziabad. The proposed corridor will also connect into an area close to the existing elevated road on the Master Plan Road-2 corridor.

Why the Sector 60 Extension Matters

The biggest significance of the revised alignment is network connectivity.

An elevated road ending at Sector 57 could have created another bottleneck at the point where elevated traffic returned to the surface. Extending the corridor to Sector 60 is intended to take traffic further towards the northern parts of Noida and provide better onward connectivity.

This could be particularly important for commuters travelling between central Noida, northern sectors and the Ghaziabad side.

The project is therefore not just about reducing congestion on one road—it is about creating a more continuous movement corridor across multiple important sectors.

Critical Engineering Focus Areas

The alignment decision is an important milestone, but the engineering design will be equally critical.

One of the key challenges previously identified around the Sector 12–22 T-point was the geometry of the route. Earlier project reporting highlighted the need for careful attention to curve design because of the constraints around this section.

The DPR will therefore be important in determining:

  • Detailed alignment and structural design
  • Entry and exit points
  • Traffic integration with existing roads
  • Curve geometry and safety
  • Integration with existing elevated infrastructure
  • Construction methodology
  • Project cost and implementation strategy

The alignment is moving forward, but construction has not yet started. The DPR and subsequent approvals will determine the next stages of implementation.

What Could It Mean for Noida Real Estate?

Large-scale transportation infrastructure can influence real-estate markets by improving accessibility, travel efficiency and connectivity.

For areas connected directly or indirectly to this corridor, improved road connectivity could make commuting more convenient and potentially increase their attractiveness for homebuyers, businesses and investors.

However, it is important to distinguish between infrastructure potential and guaranteed property appreciation. Actual real-estate impact will depend on the final alignment, construction timeline, access points, surrounding development and broader market conditions.

For property buyers, the key opportunity is to understand which sectors gain meaningful connectivity—not simply which sectors appear close to the project on a map.

Noida’s Growing Elevated-Road Network

The Sector 3–60 proposal is part of a broader transformation of Noida’s road infrastructure.

The city already has completed elevated-road projects, while work on other major grade-separated corridors is also progressing. The broader objective is to improve traffic movement and provide alternatives to heavily congested surface roads.

With Noida continuing to develop as a residential, commercial and employment hub, connectivity infrastructure is becoming increasingly important to the city’s next phase of growth

What Happens Next?

The immediate focus now shifts to the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

Once the DPR establishes the technical design, cost, construction requirements and other project parameters, the project can move towards subsequent approvals and implementation stages.

So, while the Sector 3–60 elevated road is not yet a completed or under-construction corridor, the submission of the alignment report represents a meaningful step forward in the planning process.

The Bigger Picture

5.49 km. Six lanes. Sector 3 to Sector 60.

The revised alignment shows that Noida is looking beyond simply building another elevated road—it is attempting to design a corridor that connects more effectively with the city’s wider road network.

For commuters, the focus will be on faster and smoother movement.

For businesses, it could mean better accessibility.

And for the real-estate market, the bigger question will be: which sectors could benefit most as Noida’s connectivity network expands?

That is the story worth watching as the project moves from alignment → DPR → approvals → construction
